HU4 Community Hub would not be possible without our amazing volunteers. So this page is dedicated to them and their hard work.
When you visit, you can find all these lovely people here to help. Just pop in and let us know what we can do for you.
Anne – One of the OG’s, Anne has been a staple part of our volunteer cohort and an amazing asset to our team. You will find Anne flitting around the hub, doing the food bank, helping in the kitchen and being our all round people pleaser. (When she is not on holiday! 😉 )
Little Linda – Little Linda, as we so lovingly call her loves to help out where she can. A great help with the food bank and our chief tea and coffee maker. You want a decent cuppa? Come catch Little Linda on a Tuesday or Thursday, but watch out if you’re playing bingo. Our lucky Linda has a lucky dabber! 😉
Teddy – Another all round asset to our team, whether its cooking in the kitchen, helping in the food bank, dressing up and doing a fashion show from our clothes rail or being behind the scenes, shopping for the café with Kirsty. She is, however, the messiest of all when she’s in the kitchen. Good job the rest of us are there to clean up after her!
Debbie – One of our newest volunteers, Debbie is a dab hand in the kitchen and enjoys cooking us some staple homemade meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Whether its calling the bingo or slaving over the oven, Deb has proved to be a vital member of the team.
Linsay – Another of our newest volunteers, Linsay has become invaluable to us at the hub. Helping out in the food bank, making teas and coffees and deep cleaning for us on a Saturday. Even if she is a bad influence on Kirsty when it comes to a slice of cake with our cuppa after a hard mornings work 😉
Megan – Having not been with us long, Megan has been an amazing addition to the hub. Working the delivery and food bank almost solely with a little help from a few of the volunteers. You will find Megan on a Tuesday or Wednesday, normally in the back, but sometimes we can coax her into the café for a natter.
Nakita – Nakita has just joined the team recently, volunteering one day a week around her college. She loves rugby, so she’s the girl to talk to on all things Rugby. She even plays it herself.
Ammad – Normally you will see Ammad on a Saturday in the hub. Working hard at college towards a degree, Ammad is helping with us as a little work experience.
We are so grateful for all of our amazing volunteers, we do not know what we would do without them. So come on in to the hub for a cuppa, a meal, a slice of cake, whatever it is you will be greeted with a friendly face.
If you would like to start volunteering with us, pop into the hub and ask for Kirsty, our manager.
